The Spice Girls Have Given Me Back My Spice for Life! Thanks Scary,Sporty,Posh,Baby, and Ginger

I was feeling a bit blue lately. Just normal life stuff I guess, mixed with holiday busy times.Don't worry, I feel better now. Not to mention my laptop was spazzing out on me, so a spazzed out laptop does not make for a kept up blog.

Laptop is doing better, and so am I.

By the way, blue is one of my favorite colors. Why is it used to describe a sad emotion? What about saying, I am feeling a little Chartreuse lately.

Anyway, on one of my Chartreuse days I was curled up in my bed flipping channels around on the TV. My husband had taken K, our five year old, out to do some errands. The teenagers were both gone with friends, and I stayed home. I said it was because I needed to 'get a few things done', but we all know what that is code for -
"AS SOON AS Y'ALL (sorry, just read a Paul Deen article in my magazine. 'Y'all' just felt right to type)  LEAVE, I'M CLIMBING BACK INTO BED WITH MY SWEATS ON, GRABBING THAT BAG OF CHEETOS AND A DR.PEPPER AND WATCHING ALL OF MY DVR'D REALITY PROGRAMS. STAY GONE FAMILY, STAY GONE FOR AS LONG AS YOU'D LIKE. MAMA NEEDS ALONE TIME FOR HER GUILTY PLEASURES." A.K.A.- QUEEN OF THE REMOTE,QUEEN OF THE SNACKS,QUEEN OF THE HOUSE!

I put on my Rubios Fish Taco Sweatshirt that I have had since I was 18 years old.
My favorite pink sweats, and threw my hair in a bun.

Stared at my pile of laundry, and gave it a big HUG   'F' -YOU, and jumped into bed!
Where is my remote?

Ahh there it is, Housewives of Wherever, here I come.

"YOOOOOO, Tell me what you want, what you really, really want"

"I'll tell you what you want, what you really really want"

Is that?

No!!!

Could it be??

Is this Spice World, the Movie?

One of the cheesiest films ever made?
Yet, the top of the pyramid in my pyramid of guilty pleasures!!!

I will take you back a few years.

I was 23 years old, married to my first husband, and at home with our son. I had many little cousins. We are a tight family, and cousins are as important as oxygen. Because of the age difference, it seemed like I was more of an Aunt. But, nope they are my little cousins.

My little cousins would stay the night often, two of them being little girls, who in fact happened to be IN LOVE with the Spice Girls. So naturally when they came over, the VHS of Spice World was popped in.
We  they would dance around the living room, playing with our their Spice Girl Dolls.
In fact my Aunt had bought me the Ginger Spice Doll  for a gift  as a joke! I had experimented with Auburn Hair and Blonde Highlights at the time, so Ginger was fitting.

SO, when I came upon this on my television screen, I stopped!

Sadly, it was almost the end of the movie, but I stared at the screen with tears of happiness in my eyes. Tears of HAPPINESS, WARMTH, GOOD TIMES!
I immediately took pictures of the TV screen and texted them to my little cousins.

"You will never guess what is on right now!!!"

These are the lyrics to the song they were singing.

These are the lyrics that broke me out of my funk.

These are the lyrics that can cure diseases
(alright, I am taking it a bit far)

But these are the lyrics from the song at the end of the movie.
A movie that holds unexplained, warm and fuzzy memories for me.

La la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la

When you're feelin' sad and low
We will take you where you gotta go
Smiling dancing everything is free
All you need is positivity

Colors of the world
Spice up your life
Every boy and every girl
Spice up your life
People of the world
Spice up your life, aahh

Back when Posh actually did more than just stand and pose!

Oh, Scary Spice! You don't scare me!

*Thanks You Crazy Gals! Thanks for bringing back some memories.
I will now be going on to Amazon.com and buying your DVD, and pulling out boxes from the Attic looking for that Ginger Spice Doll to play with give to my daughter!

Moment of Silence, for my world will never be the same after next season

The Office is ending after it's 9th season. I am sad.
The Office makes me happy. REALLY HAPPY! Like Happy Pill mixed with a Margarita kind of Happy!
I have the theme song on my ipod, and when my ipod is set to shuffle it will come one in between Fleetwood Mac and Flo' Rida. Every time it comes on, I can't help but smile.

Whether you watch The Office, or GOD FORBID, have never heard of it. Please take a moment to think of me. For after next season ends, my Thursday nights will never be the same.

My TV in my room just blew up......Literally!

It will be a dark, sad, lonely place in my room without my one true love.

My television!

It literally woke me up this morning by making a loud popping sound.Imagine someone jumping from the top of a roof, onto a pile of bubble wrap and fluorescent bulbs! That is the exploding sound it made. I SWEAR!!!

Then the t.v. became aglow with a bright chartreuse color; You like that color description? I could have just said 'Pea Green' , or 'Baby Diarrhea Yellow', but I pulled a whopper out of my vocab. I had to google the spelling.

This lasted for about 2 seconds, then the screen went blank again and-

POP!!!!!!
POP, Pop, Pop,Pop, POP!!!!!!!

And my beloved B.F.F. was gone.

I then called my husband who was downstairs in the garage!

"Ummm, can you come upstairs? The T.V. just blew up?"

"Blew up?"

"Yes, like Crackle, Pop, Pop, Crackle"

"Like Rice Krispies?"

"No, like our T.V. BLOWING UP!!!!"

"I'll be up in a minute. I'll move the armoire, and unplug it, but I'll have to check it out later. I'm already running late!"

"Later??!!!??"

Since we are on a budget right now, and we won't be able to buy a new t.v. anytime soon. We are going to have to do an 'ol television switcheroo again.

My fifteen year old was so excited that she got my son's old t.v. and was able to give her little 13 inch to our other daughter, but guess what........

Sorry Charlie.
We are stealing your newly acquired 20 something inch, and giving you back your 13 inch.

**Or, you can just whine to Dad and tell him Mom really deserves a new Flat Screen in her room. And Budget, Schmudget....
And I am sure there are some good deals going on....
And T.V. makes Mom happy..
And we all know when Mom is Happy, the whole house is happy
And when the whole house is happy, well..........
I don't know!
The whole House is Happy!!
THE END

R.I.P.

OLD RCA Television.
We had a good run, you and I!
Hopefully in your Heaven,
The Office is played continuously,
and a little bit of Trashy Reality T.V. is thrown in for your guilty viewing pleasure.
XOXO
Here is what Telly would say to me if he could give a speech at his own service:
I have had a good life. My owner has let me play all the good shows. I will never forget her, and our hours, upon hours
,UPON HOURS, UPON HOURS, of time that we have spent together, just her and I, and our good friend remote! Ohhh, the laughter, the tears!
The Good Times ~ marathon days spent watching all of her DVR'd shows
and

The Bad Times~ that husband of hers trying to take me over. Infesting me with his sports channels, and Gangland documentaries.
I will always remember my one true love, my partner in crime.
Her name is J.R.
I will be watching over her from above
I will be her Television Guardian
Never forget me J.R., even when Flat Screen comes into your life.......Never Forget!!!!!

I am a Closet Lazy Ass, and I am Proud (well, secretly proud)

Anyone who looks at me probably just thinks I never stop. I'm always on the go!

'Wow,how does she do it?'

'Where does she find the time?'

'Did you see that bed she refinished and painted?'

Yes I am busy, yes I carpool, work, have a scheduled calendar in my purse as well as a smartphone calendar just for alarm purposes. I make crafts during Holidays, bake Birthday cakes for family members, drive my kids all over town, have parties/BBQ's/fish taco nights. We love to go camping, I love the beach, I love nights out on the town, either with girlfriends or my hubby. LOVE to dance, laugh, tell stories, skeeball, bowling, anything that I can show my secret competitive side. I simultaneously cook dinner, help kids with homework, talk on the phone to my mom, tell another kid to finish their chores, and check my emails all at the same time.

I could keep going!
                      I am a busy gal!
The list could go on and on!

But what truly brings me joy.....

What I absolutely love the most.....

What I look forward to doing when I have the house to myself........

What is included in my daydream fantasy life, that will never really happen, but a girl can dream..........

What I secretly do with every second of free time that I have........ when no one is home

I grab the remote
I lay in bed
I watch television
Simple!
I LOVE TELEVISION
I LOVE BEING LAZY
I LOVE MY BED
I love it at 9:00 a.m.
I love it at 2:00 p.m.
Anytime
I love it on Weekdays (if its my day off or I get off work early)
I love it on Weekends

Then I hear it, I hear the sound of the diesel truck pulling into the driveway, the garage door going up.

Shit, the hubby is home!

T.V. off

Look in mirror, Dam pillow wrinkles on face, flat hair in the back!

Run downstairs

Put dryer on tumble ( that same load has been tumbling for 2 days)

Grab a pile of crap from bottom of stairs

Hear keys in door

"Hey babe I'm home. Whatcha up to?"

"Oh, just getting some stuff done around here. I'm on my fifth load of laundry, and now I am bringing this pile of toys upstairs to have K put away in her room."

"Hey did you wash my black sweatshirt?"

"Uhhh"

My husband knows I am a secret lazy ass.He has to know.
That is one of the reasons I love him, and maybe one of the reasons he loves me. A lazy ass who still manages to get it done! How does she do it folks?
He plays it off, goes along with it,but I know he has caught on to me.
Only trying sometimes to catch me at it-"did you wash my black sweatshirt?" (good one honey!)

Well, I am going to end this post, and soak up as much lazy time as I can. Before the hubby and the teenagers ruin a perfectly good, impromptu peaceful day.I had to stay home from work today because my 5 year old woke up with a tummy ache (which is a less gross way of saying she was having diarrhea and vomiting into a bowl all at the same time.) She is now sleeping in her bed, poor little thing, so I am going to have some Lazy Ass Me Time. That is, until I hear that garage door open. Then it is time to spray some Pine Sol into the air, push start on the dishwasher, and hold a spoon in my hand.

"After I took care of our ailing daughter, I mopped, did the dishes and now I am getting ready to cook something. Next I am going to put my feet up. Whoo, what a day! How was your day Honey?"
